Student families can re-contribute funds back into a 529 plan within 60 days of (1) the original withdrawal or (2) the refund date, if the university has refunded part of a tuition payment.
Each 529 plan handles re-contributions differently:
Some plans have a dedicated “re-contribution” process
Others simply ask you to follow the normal contribution workflow
